So i have ingested 4 pills now. I feel fine..no internal crazy side affects. Yesterday I started feeling outward stuff. Lips are starting to get dry, skin feels a bit tight on my face and felt warm and flushed last nite. AND...body itch...random itchiness in diff spots all over my body. Really only 2 new pimples, when I took my first pill i was virtually acne free...the one I got on my chin ITCHES!!

Yesterday was my first day on accutane....here we go!!!

I forgot to date these photos, but Ive been pretty consistently taking the antibiotic, and the topical benzoyl, I added the low dose retin a little over a week a go or so.  Ive done the retin a before, without much luck. I think this antibiotic might be helping the usual "intial breakout" that the retin a usually causes.

I tried to comment about the acne history question..

It does run in my family, my mom has large pores and not so great skin, she has suffered from a few cysts here and there, and zits, but nothing like mine.  My half brother also has pretty bad acne...and I guess my biological dad did too, its hard to say where it came from?!

Ive basically been told by doctors that it is genentic and hormonal..and that I will prob never see relief until at least menopause.

I am also going to make my journal entries private to public for now as I want to be able to share my progress to others that I may or may not want reading my shit!!

I wanted to take some more photos with ZERO make up, in big hopes of a breath taking aha moment while on accutane..

I took pics of the dent in my face as well from the cortisone shot, I guess it could take several months to regenerate

Anyways Im taking a new oral for the month leading up to the switch to accutane, its one Ive never tried, and for topical benz peroxide, 5%

The cyst on my face is more than gone, there is now a deep impression on my cheek where it used to be :( Hoping this is temporary, its never happened before..

FINALLY

I finally decided to quit the bullshit and start accutane! I have suffered with severe and cystic acne since I was 8 years old, YES 8! My school pic shows this, my first zit on the middle of my nose.  That same zit that would return in my twenties as a dime sized cyst that required coritisone injections.

I have suffered for so so long! Accutane is some serious biz..I never wanted to try it because of the possible side effects, even though I know it is THE ONLY drug that will work for me..I have done EVERYTHING.. it is also, nearly 100% of the time a "cure" for acne.
I went in for a cortisone injection today, wow, this thing was massive.

Im going to start blogging this journey with photos. I start accutane one month from today, I was required to take a pregnancy test today, and will at my next visit before starting. Damn if I was a boy I could start it today!

I took some photos of my skin today, looking pretty terrible AND pics of the MASSIVE cyst on my face, right before it imploded after a shot of cortisone, the difference is incredbile.
